Every Friday and Saturday night, it’s Pata Pata time. The dance keeps going all night long, til the morning sun begins to shine.

‘Pata Pata’ was written and performed by the South African singer, activist and exile, Miriam Makeba.  This version from 1967.

The ‘Wild Colonial Boy’ is a traditional Irish-Australian ballad. It was originally outlawed for glorifying the life of Jack O’Donohue, an Irish rebel, convict to Australia, and a bush-ranging outlaw.

This version was released in 1962 by the Irish folk group, The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem.

Erhabor Emokpae (1934-1984) was an artist and sculptor, and a one of the pioneers of Nigeria’s modern art scene leading up to and after independence from Great Britain. More information here.
